Coach Lisa is a native Texan and has been a competitive swimmer since age 5. She swam summer league, year-round club swimming, high school and college swimming. She has coached since her teens, and currently owns a swimming and triathlon coaching business for youth and adults, and enjoys competing in long distance triathlons and masters swimming. It is her 5th year as a summer league head coach, the last 3 with the Steiner Stars.

Murph grew up swimming in Virginia, both in summer-league and year-round club teams. He went on to swim in college at Indiana University and majored in biochemistry. While at Indiana, he qualified for the Olympic trials in 2000 for the 200 meter butterfly, set 4 school records, was an NCAA All-American, and 2004 Olympic Trials Semifinalist. He has coached summer league, USS and Masters swimming off and on since 2001. He received a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University, and now works full time in Austin at Catz Physical Therapy. With a swimming, coaching and physical therapy background, Murph describes himself as a professional kid.

Michaela Keller grew up in Kailua, Oahu where she lived out her dream as a National Competitive Swimmer. She was the Girls Hawaii State Champion from the age 9-18 and was the 1999 Hawaii Swimmer of the Year while holding 4 High School Records. Michaela swam for the University of Nevada, Reno on a full scholarship. She was 2 seconds away in 200 Butterfly for the Olympic Trials. She has over 20 years of national level swimming and coaching experience. Michaela is also a licensed Massage Therapist with her own massage therapy business in Austin. She's thrilled to be a new member of the Stars Blue Team coach staff.

Kyle has been swimming since he was 9. He is a sprint free and fly specialist, earning High School All-American status in both strokes. Kyle was captain of his high school swim team and water polo team in Albany, Oregon. Kyle moved to Austin his senior year of high school, to swim at Westwood High School and earn his third straight High-Point/Most Valuable Swimmer award. Kyle is now swimming at the University of California San Diego while working on his Cognitive Science degree. Kyle has coached both high school and club swimming at Albany Aquatics (Oregon), Cedar Park Swimming, and Nitro Swimming. He is excited to join the Stars coaching staff this summer.

Querube has been swimming since she was 8. At age 13 she made it to STAGS, where she qualified for TAGS in the 100 freestyle. She went on to swim for Cedar Park High School all four years. As a freshman, she qualified for Regionals in the 100 free and 100 butterfly, and received a lettermen jacket. By her senior year, she made it to the top 8 in the region in the 100 fly, and received the Most Valuable Player award. Querube has experience teaching private swim lessons, as well as coaching summer league teams. She is looking forward to a great season with the Steiner Stars Blue Team.

This will be Coach Andrew’s second year coaching the Stars Blue Team. Andrew started with the Steiner Stars at age 10, and swam year-round with the Cedar Park Typhoons through middle school. He qualified for invitationals and STAGS every year during that time. He is currently a senior at Cedar Park High School, where he is on the varsity track team and varsity band. He hopes to study engineering at Duke or Texas A&M upon graduation. He is thrilled to return to the Blue Team this summer.

This will be Coach Michelle’s second year with the Steiner Stars Blue Team. Michelle started swimming with the Steiner Stars in elementary school and spent three years on the Cedar Park High School swim team. She qualified for All-District in the 100 Backstroke as a sophomore and swam in the 200 medley relay at the Regional swim meet in 2008. She currently attends UT Austin and majors in journalism. Michelle loves kids and is very excited to coach the Stars this summer!

Marli has swam on club teams since she was 11, originally in Huntington Beach, California, and later on the Cedar Park Club Team. She’s been a member of the Cedar Park High School swim team for the last 4 years where she was Team Captain her Senior year, placed at Districts in the 500 Free and 100 Back, and qualified for Regionals in both the 4A and 5A districts. She hopes to major in Pre-Med/Speech Communication this Fall at either Baylor University or Texas A&M. Marli has been a volunteer coach for the past 3 years for both the Steiner Stars Red team and Blue Team, as well as Shooting Stars. She is thrilled to be able to work with the kids again and looks forward to an awesome season!

Kendra started swimming for summer league when she was 5 years old then began club swimming in 7th grade. In high school she swam on the Cedar Park High School Swim Team, placing at Districts and then swimming at the Regional meet. Kendra is graduating this year and will be attending the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, planning to major in Spanish. She has been volunteer coaching for the past 3 years with the Steiner Stars Blue Team and Shooting Stars, and is excited about her 4th season of coaching.

Karina is a soon to be junior at Vandegrift High School. She is a team captain of the Varsity Soccer team and an all round athlete and honor student. She has been swimming since she was 4 years old, and was an inaugural member of the STEINER STARS. Shes a fierce competitor, with her favorite events being butterfly and sprint freestyle. Karina has been coaching and teaching swim lessons for the Stars Blue Team and Shooting Stars for two summers. Karina is looking forward to both swimming and coaching on the Blue team to show her love for the sport and the kids.
